There are also a number of other highly experienced competitors taking part in some, but not all of the events. <p> The events are: <ul> <li>Longsword Tournament on Foot.</li> <li>Mounted Skill-at-Arms.</li> <li>Mounted Melee.</li> <li>The Joust.</li> </ul> For further details on the Taupo Medieval Festival please visit its website: www.taupojoust.co.nz <hr/> <div> <img src="taupotemp/andrew-1.jpg"><p> <p class="LeadPara">A</p>ndrew is a relative newcomer to the mounted martial arts, although he has always had a passion for jousting and historical knightly deeds of arms. <p> Andrew commenced riding and training for the joust in 2007. He trains with both Full Tilt and Nova Hollandia joust troupes. The 2010 Taupo Knight s Challenge was Andrew s first tournament as a competitor after many years of serving his apprenticeship on the ground and he liked it so much that he s coming back for more! <p> <img src="taupotemp/callum-1.jpg"><p> <p class="LeadPara">C</p>allum is a member of the Order of the Boar in Upper Hutt. Callum has been jousting since 1999, is on the Board of the International Jousting League and is one of the world s pioneers in the revival of jousting as a modern, international competitive sport and historical spectacle. <p> <img src="taupotemp/jerry-1.jpg"><p> <p class="LeadPara">J</p>erry started jousting in 2005 and is one of the founding members of the Company of the Lance jousting group in Auckland. Jerry has also helped organise previous Taupo Tournaments. <p> Since starting jousting, Jerry has established himself at the top of the world stage. He has competed in Australia, Belgium, Poland, France, Czechoslovakia and the USA and is renowned for his hard-hitting style. <p> Jerry is a stone mason by trade and earlier this year he built New Zealand s first permanent jousting arena on his property at Pukekohe. <p> <img src="taupotemp/sasha-1.jpg"><p> <p class="LeadPara">S</p>asha commenced her joust training as a member of the Order of the Boar in 2005  riding initially in the mounted skill-at-arms before taking part in her first jousting tournament in 2009 at Harcourt Park. <p> Sasha then moved to Australia where she has been training and jousting with both Full Tilt and Nova Hollandia joust troupes. <p> <img src="taupotemp/vikki-1.jpg"><p> <p class="LeadPara">V</p>ikki became interested in jousting in 2004 and se started travelling all the way from Whangerei to Upper Hutt to learn to joust at the Order of the Boar joust training workshops. Vikki has participated in most jousting tournaments in New Zealand  initially as a rider in the skill-at-arms before jousting for the first time at the 2007 Taupo Tournament. <p> Earlier this year Vikki competed in her first international tournament at Abbey Museum, near Brisbane, Australia.
